Healthy House Intern Spotlight: Ellery Patchett

ree

Healthy House was thrilled to welcome two interns to our team this year to further our mission of empowering women in recovery. Our goal for the interns was to provide students with hands-on, real-world experience in a supportive, collaborative environment while bringing fresh energy, ideas, and perspectives to the work we do. Ellerey Patchett, one of our interns, brought her unique skills, perspectives and passion to our work, making a meaningful impact to both our residents and staff!

Our interns played an important role in supporting daily operations, engaging with residents, contributing to projects, enriching our program, and strengthening the sense of community within Healthy House.

Ellerey joined our team already passionate about empowering women in recovery. Having just completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work and moving directly into her Master’s program, she brought unmatched compassion, energy and a willingness to learn and lead. During her internship, Ellerey supported daily operations, participated in activities with residents, and provided one-one-one encouragement.

In addition to that, Ellerey revised the Healthy House Resident Handbook with updated resources aligned with current recovery standards. Her effort to create a clear and easily accessible resource for our residents provides an impactful legacy for future residents.

Our interns worked closely with Terri, our Operations Manager, who praised them both for being positive role models and bringing fresh perspectives. “Ellerey never hesitated to share ideas and her encouragement meant a lot to our residents,” they stated.

Ellerey says the relationships she built were the most meaningful part of her internship. “Getting to know the women and witnessing their victories—even through setbacks—taught me that recovery is never a straight line, but growth is always happening.”

We’re grateful for our interns' presence, passion, and lasting impact on Healthy House. Their time with us reflects the power of community, collaboration, and care.
