Resident Support
Healthy House, along with its director, program and operations directors, resident assistant, mentors, and peers from the larger recovery community provides:

Assistance to residents in securing permanent long-term housing prior to being discharged from the Healthy House. Discharge planning should be discussed and begun at intake and reviewed and supported throughout the residents stay.

Individualized guidance on the principles of recovery

Promotion of spiritual and personal growth, by providing opportunities for daily meditation and reflection.

Assistance connecting residents to community supports, i.e. Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Community Mental Health and Behavioral Health services as well as recovery-oriented activities in the community.

Education for residents in basic skill development such as cooking, cleaning, social interaction/communication skills and problem solving skills, stress reduction, personal hygiene, and money management; as well as assistance with, and access to using various levels of community services.​

Peer Leaders assisting their peers in articulating their goals for recovery, learning and practicing new skills, helping them monitor their progress, assisting them in their treatment, modeling effective coping techniques and self help strategies based on the specialist's own recovery experience, and supporting them in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services. As residents progress in their recovery they become peer leaders to the newer residents.​

Weekly house meetings​ to construct and consolidate bonds among residents and provide support.

Weekly recovery meeting for residents to attend with their sponsors and/or mentors and peers from the community.
